Full-Stack Web Development

eSumberPdP is a web-based material management system developed for Semester 1 DVM Information Technology students at Kolej Vokasional Shah Alam. It centralises teaching and learning materials in a structured database, helping lecturers organise, update, and share resources more efficiently while giving students faster access to the latest learning materials. The system also supports notifications when new materials are uploaded, reducing communication gaps and helping students stay informed even when access to devices is limited or controlled.

Project context

From problem to purpose

01 / PROBLEM STATEMENT

What needs to improve

Teaching and learning materials were previously difficult for students and lecturers to access because storage locations and resource organisation were inconsistent. Older and newer materials could overlap when syllabuses changed, creating confusion about which version should be used. Students also did not always receive timely updates when lecturers uploaded new materials, causing communication gaps and delayed access to important resources.

02 / OBJECTIVES

What the project must achieve

  1. 01Develop a teaching and learning material management system for Semester 1 DVM Information Technology students at Kolej Vokasional Shah Alam.
  2. 02Improve access to organised teaching and learning materials through a structured database system.
  3. 03Maintain more reliable and secure material records, including older collections and syllabus-based resources.
  4. 04Reduce duplication between outdated and current learning materials.
  5. 05Improve communication between lecturers and students by notifying students when updated materials are uploaded.

Engineering evidence

How the system works

Users

Lecturers managing teaching materials and Semester 1 DVM Information Technology students accessing them.

System workflow

Lecturers upload and organise materials by subject or syllabus. Students browse the latest resources through a centralised system and receive notifications when new material becomes available.

Data management

A database stores material information in a structured way to improve organisation, reduce duplication, and retain older syllabus collections for reference.

Impact

The system improves access to updated learning materials, reduces uncertainty around document versions, and creates a clearer communication channel between lecturers and students.
